Yellow Tears

Zlata Radovan describes her practice as a restless and constant experimentation and exploration of different materials and techniques. Zlata started studying visual arts back in 1992 and has been painting, teaching and exhibiting ever since. Given her origins and the turmoil that the Balkan Peninsula endured in the last three decades, she has found peace and serenity in her art and her writing. Zlata’s art is defined by the ethno folklore of her childhood and modern Australian influences. Her practice is a playful exploration of materials, where mixing and mistakes create beauty. Each piece is multi-layered, creating new dimension and expanding existing volume. Sometimes there are old paintings underneath which gives exciting texture to the new creation
